Xiaomi 14 Ultra Official Now

In today’s evening, Xiaomi held its first “people, car, and home ecological” conference in Beijing. The most notable announcement was the launch of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra mobile phone. This mobile phone is the highest-end version of the Xiaomi 14 series, equipped with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen3 platform and supporting two-way satellite communication. It’s positioned as the “imaging flagship of the year.”

Xiaomi 14 Ultra Introduction

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra features a classic three-segment design with a fully wrapped metal center frame and is available in ceramic and leather versions. The ceramic version is made from Xiaomi’s Dragon Crystal Ceramic, which is 50 percent lighter than traditional ceramic, weighing 229.5g. The leather version features Nano Leather, which is 9.2mm thick and weighs 224.4g, with a six-fold increase in wear resistance and certified durability by SGS.

Moreover, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is equipped with the new “Xiaomi Dragon Armor Architecture,” featuring a high-strength aluminum alloy frame and Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass. It’s claimed to be 8% more resistant to bending than the iPhone titanium frame and 10 times more resistant to glass.

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra adopts a 6.73-inch OLED full-equal-depth micro-curved screen with a resolution of 3200×1440. It supports a 1-120Hz LTPO stepless high brush, with a local peak brightness of 3000nit, and supports a 2160Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate. The color calibration accuracy is ΔE ≈ 0.3, with a 12-bit color depth. The screen cover is made of Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass with a Vickers hardness of 860 HV0.025, higher than the second-generation Kunlun glass.

Equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen3 platform, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra comes with LPDDR5X memory, UFS 4.0 flash memory, and a new 4000m㎡ dual-channel ring cold pump cooling system. It features a new independent cooling loop for the main camera and a vapor-liquid separation design, offering 3 times the performance of traditional VC.

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra boasts Leica’s new Summilux ‘All-Star’ quad-camera, including a 50MP Sony LYT-900 main camera (OIS) with a one-inch f/1.63-f/4.0 1024-step variable aperture. It also includes three 50MP Sony IMX858 lenses for ultra wide-angle, portrait telephoto, and periscopic telephoto, all supporting macro shooting. Additional features include Xiaomi Image Brain 3.0 (Xiaomi AISP), support for more than 30x zoom, Super Capture, Professional Street Photography Mode 2.0, and the new Master Portrait Mode. Xiaomi also launched the ‘Professional Imaging Kit’ with a built-in 1500mAh battery and support for Type-C direct connection.

Xiaomi 14 Ultra Introduction

Xiaomi announced the upgrade of Xiaomi Image Brain to the “(world’s) first AI large model computing photography platform,” named “Xiaomi AISP.” It claims to fully integrate the CPU, GPU, NPU, and ISP computing power through Xiaomi Surge OS, with an arithmetic power of up to 60TOPS, and supports 8K 30 fps video shooting at full focal length.

One highlight of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is its support for direct mobile phone connectivity to SkyTone satellites for real-time voice and two-way SMS. It surpasses the Huawei Mate 60 Pro in this area with 60 percent faster satellite finder, 29 percent faster satellite connectivity, and 13 percent faster call connectivity.

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra is equipped with two self-developed Surge T1 signal enhancement chips, one dedicated to satellite communications. The satellite antenna transceiver performance increased by 21 percent, supporting electronic fencing and automatic reminders to open satellite services before entering no man’s land. Furthermore, Xiaomi 14 Ultra supports global roaming in 160+ countries and regions, covering 430+ carrier networks.
