ವಿಜಯಪುರದ ಒಣ ಹವೆಯ ಸಣ್ಣ ಹಳ್ಳಿಯೊಂದರಲ್ಲಿ ಮಂಜುನಾಥ್ ಎಂಬ ಯುವ ರೈತನಿದ್ದ. ತಂದೆಯಿಂದ ಬಳುವಳಿಯಾಗಿ ಬಂದಿದ್ದ ಮೂರು ಎಕರೆ ಒಣಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹನಿ ನೀರಾವರಿ ಪದ್ಧತಿಯ ಮೂಲಕ ದಾಳಿಂಬೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅಂಜೂರ ಬೆಳೆದು, ಬರಪೀಡಿತ ಹಳ್ಳಿಯಲ್ಲೂ ಸುಸ್ಥಿರ ತೋಟಗಾರಿಕೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಸಾಬೀತುಪಡಿಸಬೇಕೆಂಬುದು ಆತನ ಆಸೆಯಾಗಿತ್ತು.Manjunath was an ambitious young farmer living in a drought-prone village near Vijayapura. His dream was to adopt drip irrigation on his inherited three acres of dry land to cultivate pomegranate and fig, proving that sustainable horticulture is viable even in arid zones.

His savings were completely wiped out, debts mounted, and village elders mocked him, saying nothing could bloom on rocky soil and that he should migrate to the city as a construction laborer.

ತೀವ್ರ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಸಂಕಷ್ಟ ಮತ್ತು ಕೀಳರಿಮೆಯಿಂದ ಕಂಗೆಟ್ಟ ಮಂಜುನಾಥ್, ಕೃಷಿ ಉಪಕರಣಗಳನ್ನು ಬದಿಗಿಟ್ಟು ಹತಾಶೆಯಿಂದ ಕುಳಿತಿದ್ದ. ಆಗ ಆತನ ಹಳ್ಳಿಯ ಹಿರಿಯ ಜಲತಜ್ಞ ಶಂಕರಪ್ಪನವರು ಆತನ ತೋಟದ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಬಂದರು; ಮಂಜುನಾಥ್ ಬೋರ್‌ವೆಲ್ ಯಂತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಶಪಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ, ಬಂಜರು ನೆಲದ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಬೆರಳು ಮಾಡಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು.Overwhelmed by financial strain and self-doubt, Manjunath abandoned his tools in deep despair. Shankarappa, an elderly local watershed conservationist, visited his plot; watching Manjunath curse the drilling rigs, he pointed calmly to the barren landscape.

"ಮಂಜುನಾಥ್, ಆಳಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊರೆಯುವ ಯಂತ್ರಗಳಿಂದ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಅಂತರ್ಜಲ ತಾನಾಗಿಯೇ ಉಕ್ಕಿಬರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಮೊದಲು ಮಳೆನೀರನ್ನು ಇಂಗಿಸಿ ನೆಲದ ಬಾಯಾರಿಕೆ ತಣಿಸಬೇಕು. ನಿಸರ್ಗದ ನಿಯಮವನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಆತುರಪಟ್ಟರೆ ನಿರಾಶೆಯಷ್ಟೇ ಗತಿ. ಮ್ಯಾನಿಫೆಸ್ಟೇಶನ್ ಎಂದರೆ ಕೂತಲ್ಲೇ ಜಲಧಾರೆಯನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಲ್ಲ; ಬಿದ್ದ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಮಳೆಹನಿಯನ್ನೂ ಹಿಡಿದಿಟ್ಟು, ಕಂದಕಗಳನ್ನು ತೋಡಿ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸುವ ದೈನಂದಿನ ಕಾಯಕ" ಎಂದು ಶಂಕರಪ್ಪನವರು ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ ನೀಡಿದರು."Manjunath, machines drilling deep cannot summon groundwater out of thin air; you must first harvest rain to replenish the parched soil. Haste without understanding natural principles yields only sorrow. Manifestation is not daydreaming of surging springs while sitting idle; it is building trenches, catching every raindrop, and patiently preparing the ground through daily labor," advised Shankarappa.

He firmly anchored his intent: "My land is not barren; it merely needs patience and mindful stewardship. I will bring lush life to this very soil."

2. ಸಕಾರಾತ್ಮಕ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯ ಮನಸ್ಥಿತಿ (Growth Mindset & Water Harvesting): ತಜ್ಞರ ನೆರವಿನಿಂದ ಕೃಷಿ ಹೊಂಡ, ಇಂಗುಗುಂಡಿ ಮತ್ತು ಬದು ನಿರ್ಮಾಣದ ನೈಸರ್ಗಿಕ ತಂತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಕಲಿತುಕೊಂಡನು. Rather than relying on blind luck, he educated himself on watershed dynamics, farm ponds, percolation pits, and contour bunding.

He rose at 5:00 AM every morning with pickaxe and shovel, working tirelessly for three months under the harsh sun to dig a dedicated percolation pond, ensuring every drop of monsoon runoff soaked deep underground.

ವರ್ಷದ ಕೊನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆತ ತೋಡಿದ ಇಂಗುಗುಂಡಿಯ ಸಮೀಪದ ಹಳೆಯ ತೆರೆದ ಬಾವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ಸಿಹಿನೀರಿನ ಚಿಲುಮೆ ಒಡೆಯಿತು. ಆ ನೀರಿನಿಂದಲೇ ಹನಿ ನೀರಾವರಿ ಅಳವಡಿಸಿ, ದಾಳಿಂಬೆಯ ಸಸಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೆಟ್ಟು ಸಮೃದ್ಧ ತೋಟವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿದನು. ಮಂಜುನಾಥ್‌ನ ಹಸಿರು ತೋಟವನ್ನು ನೋಡಲು ಇಂದು ಇಡೀ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ರೈತರೇ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.By the end of the year, the ancient open well beside his percolation pond miraculously revived with clear, sweet spring water. Utilizing that very water through drip lines, he established a thriving pomegranate orchard. Today, farmers from across the district visit to witness the lush abundance born from his perseverance.
