ಮಹಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರದ ಕೊಲ್ಹಾಪುರ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಉತ್ತರ ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಘಟ್ಟಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ‘ಗೆಜೆನಿಯೊಫಿಸ್ ಚಾಂದ್ಗಡಿ’ ಎಂಬ ಹೊಸ ನೆಲದಡಿಯ ಉಭಯವಾಸಿ ಪ್ರಭೇದವನ್ನು ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳು ಪತ್ತೆಹಚ್ಚಿದ್ದಾರೆ. Scientists discovered a new subterranean caecilian amphibian species named Gegeneophis chandgadi in the Western Ghats of Kolhapur, Maharashtra.
